The fuel oil tank in the boiler room is to be painted with an oil-resistant coating on the inside. Plaster, made of mortar from the PIH group, is new. A concrete floor was made on the floor, which has no signs of damage.
a) How high must the plinth be painted?
b) Please describe the steps in order, taking into account the materials used
a) The coating on the plinth must be done so high, that the level of heating oil at the outlet is lower than the height of the coating on the wall – on the assumption, that the tank is completely full.
b) Activities related to the coating on the plinth and on the floor are as follows:
1) cleaning the substrate;
2) priming with oil-resistant dispersion paint;
3) preliminary painting with oil-resistant dispersion paint;
4) surface painting with oil-resistant dispersion paint. Only proven paints with guaranteed oil resistance should be used for the coating. Dispersion paints tested in this respect must have a certificate of approval. The coating thickness recommended by the manufacturer must be respected. Its individual layers should be made in different color shades. The order of the individual layers must be clear.
