Escape routes of the building

From rooms intended for people to stay, it should be possible to evacuate to a safe place outside the building or to an adjacent fire zone, directly or via general communication, called escape routes.
In the premises of fire zones ZL, from the farthest place, where a person can stay, to the emergency exit to the escape route, there should be an evacuation passage with a length not exceeding 40 m, wherein, if the intended use of the room does not clearly indicate the manner of its development – this length should be reduced by 20%, tj. do 32 m. In rooms with a height exceeding 5 m the length of the passage may be increased by 25%. The length of the transition can also be increased by 50% in the case of using fixed water extinguishing devices in the room and o 50% in the case of the use of automatic smoke exhaust devices activated by a smoke detection system. The above magnification values are added up. The emergency exit should not lead through more than three rooms in total, and its width should be calculated in proportion to the number of people, for the evacuation which it serves, assuming at least 0.6 me and 100 people, but not less than 0.9 m, and in the case of a passage for evacuation to 3 people – no less than 0.8 m. Partition walls separating the above-mentioned rooms do not apply to the fire resistance class requirements.
If the area of the room in the ZL fire zone exceeds 300 m2, or it is meant to be above 50 people, this room should have at least two emergency exits, separated from each other by at least 5 m. Door constituting an emergency exit from the room, in which he can stay simultaneously over 300 people and the door on the escape route from this room should be equipped with anti-panic devices. In rooms intended for the simultaneous presence of over 50 people, emergency exit doors should open to the outside of the room. Total clear door width, constituting emergency exits from the room, is calculated in proportion to the number of people who can stay in it at the same time, assuming at least 0.6 m wide at 100 people, the smallest width of the door in the clear frame should be 0.9 m, and in the case of an evacuation door, to 3 people – 0.8 m. The width of the door constituting an emergency exit from the building, not being an exit from the room and the door on the escape route from the staircase leading to the outside of the building or to another fire zone, should not be less than the staircase width for this building, tj. 1.2 m, and in public utility buildings also not less than that resulting from the proportion 0.6 me and 100 people, calculated for the story, for which the number of people who can stay there at the same time is the largest. The width of the remaining doors on the escape routes is calculated like this, as is the width of the doors constituting emergency exits from the rooms, except that it should not be less than 0.9 m. The height of all the doors mentioned should be the minimum 2 m in the light of the frame.
